Today it's 6 years since i traveled to Asia for the first time. Destination: Thailand, a 3 week vacation. I guess all of you remember the great tsunami of Christmas 2004? That wave missed us by estimated 6 weeks, a bit of luck there I would say. In Thailand there were almost no tourists, prices were lower than a burger inn hell, and the service we received were exceptional. We were 2 families traveling together and would like to believe that we provided a nice little boost to the local stores when we arrived at a new place. We found our own little paradise at Koh Mook and the Emerald cave. I don't think I'll ever return there now, simply because I want the memories of how beautiful and simple everything were there to stay intact. One time in Bangkok, my dad wanted to take a shortcut, resulting in us finding a street lined with brothels and other happy places. Being blond and blue eyed, me and my brothers got quite the attention. Nothing to fancy, but it was fun. Although being 13 years old i didn't really get all of the subtext. Anyhow, after 3 weeks we returned home.
My second trip to Thailand was at the same time, the following year. I encourage everyone to travel to Thailand and discover this amazing culture and people for yourself.
Cheers!
New Things First
Trough the eyes of a tree-year-old everything in this world is new. I'm backtracking and logging my own firsties. and bringing in a few from history.

Quoted by a teacher
A teacher used my homework to impress her friends. That's cool! right? right?
A few weeks ago we had this project were we made a magazine, and for my magazine I did some research on the deployment of digital cinema projectors in Norwegian cinemas national wide. Today she told me that she and some friends, one whom works in the movie theater, began to talk about digital cinemas. So remembered something that i had written about how many cinemas use digital projectors hand 4k vs 2k resolution and other fancy stuff. OK, maybe not so cool thinking about a second time, but hey, I don't think every one get quoted by there teacher to impress!

First inn Brazil
Vicente Yáñez Pinzón, aperently he is an wery special guy in history. although I can't say I remember him. Anyhow, those of you ho know your Spanish exploration history would all come with a huge *sigh* and start to gloat on and on thoroughly about that he was a Spanish explorer, navigator and conquistador. You would also mention that he sailed with Christopher Columbus in 1492, and as the youngest of the Pinzón brothers were the captain on Niña. On this day, 511 years ago, Vincente Yáñez Pinsón were the first Europian to set foot in Brazil. And later when Hernándo Cortéz got the word of the tremendous riches to be found on the south-american mainland, He traveled to what is now mexico, and with the help of his thundersticks brought on the fall of the Aztec Empire. But he brought with him gigantic amount of gold back to the homeland, Spain. So it was ok, by European standards that is.
Your first history lesson brought to you by, your most humble, me! And yes, this is also a double firstie, first historic firsty to be blogged about..
By the way.. is it firsty? of firstie? I guess I'll figure that out soon enough.

First cutie
So to open this blog up, here's a double first. This is the first entry to this blog, so I guess that deserves its own kind of honor. Not anything to fancy, but simply pointing it out. The other firsty is that yesterday a girl called me cute... Yeah I know what you are thinking, buys aren't supposed to be called cute. Handsome, good looking, macho and muscular, yes, but not cute. So she was obviously joking right? Well, truth be told, yes, luckily she was. Still, I needed an excuse to get this blog started, so I was a bit slack on the requirements this time. Hopefully there won't be a need for to much of that in the future.
During my stay in Japan, a western kind-o-tall guy with hair that is blond-dark blondish is a girls magnet. Being called Kawaii from time to time was a shock in the beginning, but something I kinda got used to after a few months. The thing about the Japanese word "Kawaii" is derives from the two kanji meening "can love" and is commonly translated into charming, handsome, dear, darling, lovely, pretty and cute. So although the meaning is somewhat the same, I think (and hope) that it were said more in the direction of handsome/ good looking. And thus makes this entry valid.
Until next time, stay cool.
